Walsh Visits With Tiny Tim As Guest Of Magazine
WITH TINY TIM--Jim Walsh, center, a former South Boston resident and lately of Vinton, visited with Tiny Tim recently in Chicago where Walsh, an authority on old phonograph records, was the guest of "Hobbies" magazine. On the right is Stephanie Muller, queen of Chicago's Antiques Exposition.

Ulysses (Jim) Walsh, who lived in South Boston as a boy and who has an international reputation as the world's foremost authority on old phonograph records and the lives of early recording artists, visited with "Tiny Tim," the television, night club and recording star, during a recent stay in Chicago.
Walsh, who now lives in Vinton, made the trip as the guest of "Hobbies," "the magazine for collectors," in which he has written the "Favorite Pioneer Recording Artists" department for the past 27 years.
He also went at the urging of Tiny Tim, who wanted to obtain biographical information from him concerning his favorite old-time singers, whose voices he seeks to duplicate in his act.
Also in the above picture, taken in Tiny Tim's suite in the Sherman House, is blonde Stephanie Muller, queen of the Chicago Antiques Exposition and Collector's Fair, sponsored by "Hobbies" and held in the Conrad Hilton, the world's largest hotel.
During a performance in the College Inn night club, the singer introduced Walsh tp his audience and said he developed the idea for his act largely from many hours spent in the New York public library reading the Vinton man's "Hobbies" articles.
Upon concluding his Chicago engagement, Tiny Tim left for Hollywood to star in a film. Jim Walsh says the long-haired singer is one of the most sincere, courteous and thoroughly nice persons he has ever met and deserves his success.
